RSS feed broken?

I just noticed that the RSS feed on my site stopped updating in July 2019.

If I visit the feed in any web browser it prompts to download the php file.

Everything else seems to be working and the permissions on extern.php are 755, what else could be wrong?

version is v1.5.6

Re: RSS feed broken?

RSS feeds are not intended for browsers. They are intended for news aggregators ( a script that reads the XML file and publishes it where the user wants it ). All Firefox is doing is claiming to remove it from their toolbar, which has no bearing on RSS.

RSS Feeds are useful when you want to allow content from your website to be published to other users / websites. Generally speaking, it would be highly improbable that anyone using fluxBB would be publishing content that anyone else in the world wants to read. However, ill take a peek at the 1.5.6 and see what the problem is.

past this into the URL of your website " extern.php?action=feed&type=rss " like "http://www.myurl.com/extern.php?action=feed&type=rss" and tell us what is being displayed

Re: RSS feed broken?

That works.
The icon on the front page of fluxbb is going to extern.php?action=feed&type=atom

Re: RSS feed broken?

Going into options and changing the feed from Atom to RSS makes the error when viewed in a web browser go away.
