Re: 2.0: Joining forces with Flarum
Well this just said. If FluxBB goes this route for 2.0 I'm off to using MyBB. Because then FluxBB as it is now is dead. Everyone is moving toward Web 2.0 but its crap. Please contenue development of original FluxBB and don't join forces with ugly and useless forum like Flarum. The whole reason most FluxBB users started using this forum is because of its simplicity and not too much eye-candy like other crap forums. If you do this merge you'll loose half if not more users. Remember that not all change is good.

Re: 2.0: Joining forces with Flarum
Flarum is the next best thing to hit the forum universe, but I strongly believe that Franz will still support FluxBB to a certain extent. I mean, I cannot speak for him but there are many instances of people still using FluxBB actively in their community and it would be awesome to still have a place where they can come to for support.
Development like Flarum and MyBB are inevitable. You can't keep the same thing going forever. Technology advances and something that was amazing before can become outdated and abandoned.
I have my own installations of FluxBB and Flarum, as well as a single WoltLabs forum that I have recently launched for a new project of mine. Each forum software serves its purpose and has its pros and cons like any product you buy. It's similar to the never-ending debates between iOS versus Android, or comparisons with any other forum software. Go with the software that you think is most powerful to serve your purpose or expectations.

Re: 2.0: Joining forces with Flarum
I like the things like "auto affix" of new posts, I additionally like that sort of "scrollbar" on the right - however this appears to be all. Such things could get affixed even to a 1.5.x fluxbb (utilizing some ajax enchantment and getters/programming interface) - obviously it is more pleasant to have it all the more firmly coordinated (execution insightful) yet you additionally add it to individuals who don't need such an element.
As much as joint effort helps picking up "control" (read potential "work hours") it additionally includes hours and long periods of fiddling around how to join two universes (does not make a difference how comparable they are).
For me, who isn't into "timetables", "twitter" and so forth it isn't the progression I need fluxbb to move into. There may be clients out there who prefer as such, yet I am certain we (who still play SNES diversions some of the time tongue) get a kick out of the chance to have begin menues, little person 2.0 (in the preferences big_smile) or different things we are utilized to have. What's more, same means discussion programming. Be that as it may, as stated, things like auto-add and ajaxification are things _I_ might want to see (or eg. admonitions if posts were done inbetween).

Re: 2.0: Joining forces with Flarum
@Franz, Hey, will you still do maintenance of FluxBB software or it all going to be merged at some point? I wanted to start using FluxBB and then found this post Now I'm afraid to even install it, because I don't want to use software that will eventually be abandoned. I think that Flarum is way too bloated compared to FluxBB and I will never use it for any of my projects. Unrelated question; Does FluxBB have @username notifications like in GitHub? Thank you for all the FluxBB work you have done!
