Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

Hmm. Just a suggestion. In the install.php language file

'Alert upload' => '<strong>File uploads appear to be disallowed on this server!</strong> If you want users to be able to upload their own avatar images you must enable the file_uploads configuration setting in PHP. Once file uploads have been enabled, avatar uploads can be enabled in Administration/Options/Features.',

the words "Administration, options and features" should be variables from the other commons language pages to avoid mispelling mistakes.

And then we could warn the translators with a comment: "// variables represent, in order: administration, options, features".

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

Looks like there are a few more updates. (The bright side is that that means 1.4.3 will get released very soon.)

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

Hi, I have made some quick adjustments for the German translation. Maybe somone could commit that patch: https://users.archlinux.de/~pierre/tmp/ … .4.3.patch

There are still some strange things in there to fix (e.g. usage of "Sie" instead of "Du"). Also there are no translations for update.php and install.php yet.

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

Thanks. Here is another small update: https://users.archlinux.de/~pierre/tmp/ … tion.patch

This mainly adds a new stopword list which reduces the search index size a lot. The previous one looked like a google translation of the english one. This is now based on one of the Apache project.

PS: Let me know if I should send the patches elsewhere or by mail.

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

Thanks, commit.

For now posting patches here is fine, though if you use GitHub I can give you push access to the langs repository if you want to push them directly yourself.

PS. I made a post to discuss your suggestion of moving language packs to the core, because it sounds like a good idea to me.

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

To me is still really "painful" to use git for the translation... is the italian package complete? Have I to translate something?

Considering the installed mods and some edits i did I think I ll wait a while before upgrading my comunity to 1.4.3, but I would like to publish the last translation anyway! How can I compare the actual italian version with the english last version?

thanks wink

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

up? ^_^

Im installing a new "clean" version of flux just to do the test. But i cant understand if I have still something to translate...

Thanks for the help,
J

ps: for Reines and others I'm oscon.it on git! smile

[EDIT] A member of the italian comunity found a fatal error in the italian package (a missed "," at the end of an array; and we found a couple of other little mistakes) could i send the fixed package to some of you for the upload in the repository? I really do not have the time now to set up again my GIT (im at work... smile ) You can find it HERE. Thanks![/EDIT]

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

Updating the translations is quite a pain atm. If wanted (and nobody else already did)  could hack up a little script to check for missing, deprecated or wrong (e.g. missing %s) entries.

PS: Please use gettext for FluxBB 2 :-)

This might be what you're looking for.

There's a very good chance this will happen. smile

Installed the mod. Launched and:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /var/www/vhosts/sitename.ext/httpdocs/fluxbb143/langfilecheck.php on line 18

Re: Translators, get ready for v1.4.3

I suggest you get in touch with the creator of that modification. The thread is here.

Worked fine for me. Here the results for the french package:

Compare English to French:
*** French admin_censoring miss key(s): 'Must enter word message'
*** English admin_censoring miss key(s): 'Must enter both message'
----------------
*** update has not key(s): 'required'
*** search has not key(s): 'Quick search '
----------------
*** install's never used key(s): 'Next'
*** search's never used key(s): 'Quick search show_new', 'Quick search show_recent', 'Quick search show_replies', 'Quick search show_unanswered', 'User search'
*** update's never used key(s): 'Next', 'Required field'

Will see to it when I have time...
