Re: Development process?

Fair enough, but 1.4 was suppose to be released in the first quator of the year, we are now in the second quator.

Re: Development process?

As already stated before, the guidelines were just estimated, and 1.3/1.4 are close to being released...

I know. I also noticed you havnt answered my question wink

I think once youk now what members of your team have been involved in project management then you will able to delegate tasks thought the development team, and things will improve drastically

Project management has nothing to do with it. It's been explained before.

Well, that means, I can't give you an answer because these were just estimates. As you know, deadlines would most likely fail...

Wouldn't you have to confirm that reply with the project manager first?

I would have to disagree with you there. With project management you learn a key aspect, Time keeping. As with any project it is good practice and sometime vital that deadlines are set, maintained and kept to. Given this situation where work is done voluntarily, I understand that it may be hard to plan. However as you are still dealing with customers (IE. The community) then there should be some official word on the process.

I think successful project management would excel greatly.

Wiki wrote:

Regardless of the methodology used, the project development process will have the same major stages:
1    initiation,
2    planning or development,
3    production or execution,
4    monitoring and controlling, and
5    closing.

I feel that stages 3 and 4 is where the issues lie within and could be dealt with.

Re: Development process?

And I feel otherwise. We execute when we can and see what happens, that's all there is to it. This is not some company where you can set real deadlines (as proven) nor force people to work on it.

Matt. Just out of curiosity. What experience do you have, (in real world terms), of project management of employees, or of being employed within a team which is subject to project management?

Re: Development process?

Hi, guys. I want to thank you for your job on Pun/FluxBB, I've been using them for 4 years and very happy about it.

I want to ask how stable is 1.4Beta now and how difficult it is to update existing forum on 1.2.21 to 1.4?

Also I wanna know about the compatibility of styles and mods between 1.2.21 and 1.4, 'cause I've got a kind of a portal system with own styles and mods (like news, static pages and some other stuff:)
