Search within a single thread

Useful for threads which span many pages, and you want to search for something within that thread which will also be found in many other threads, so the built in search is mostly useless, and ctrl-f on each of the many pages of the thread is very cumbersome. This seems like an essential feature imo.

To give a specific example, arch linux uses threads to discuss software. I wanted to see if anyone discussed the a specific feature in a specifc thread, the word for the feature is used in many threads. The thread was 20 pages long. Best way I could see to do it was to set the user option to minimize pagination, there was still 8 pages, then to ctrl-f on each page. What a pain, and some threads are many times longer, thus becoming much more painful.

I'm not allowed to post links, so there is a space after the http://

Re: Search within a single thread

On the search page, there is a section called "Select how to view search results". There, you can select "Posts" for "Show results as".

Does that help?

Maybe for ndw2, but not for the issue I described in the original post.
