Hello there,

Just curious if this is in the works? Reason I am asking is cause of its importance. People love to PM as it keeps their emails anon. Will this be available soon? A proper working version for 1.4? I don't want to hack my site with a mod. I will wait for the release that contains it in the code written by the masters, not me.. If not then can I maybe hear from a dev as to why and the reasoning? Just curious. Wanna stay in the loop.

PS.. no one has responded on helping me wrap my template around these forums. Just looking for some guidance on the other post in the 1.4 support area.

There are no plans to add private messaging to 1.4. Just like with 1.2, you'll have to add a modification if you want to have it.

This will deter lots of folks from using your script.. I hope you account for that.. NO one wants to wait for a mod that might take months to get.. We want our forums to work now, today...

That modification is already available for 1.2*, so should work fine with 1.4* also. It has also recently been updated/patched by Koo's, so it's in an active state development wise too.

I appreciate the reply.. Where can I find said mod? Is there a link? A home? Who is Koo? I am new, I need hand holding for a couple days please... What I love most is that fluxbb does not have a repository of its own.. We have to use punbb mods and extension for flux even though they are written differently? How am I suppose to know what works and what doesn't?

Thanks for the information.. In your best guess should I be using the

or should I just make people see the light.. Check your own damn email and use an email address that you don't care about. I mean seriously why should the messages sit on my server right? I think I am getting it now..

I'll hijack this thread - this release of the private messaging system should work fine with Fluxbb 1.2.21?

When will 1.2.4B leave beta? Punres only has 1.2.3 as the latest release.

Thank you very much to the developers for this mod - it's a must have forum feature IMO.

One last thing - for privacy purposes, are the PM contents saved in the database in clear text or encrypted? If they're in clear text I would like to disclose in a privacy statement that there is the "potential" for a database administrator to access contents of messages, so that people can choose to/not to use this feature based on their levels of paranoia

Edit - to answer my own post (I just implemented it!)

1. Yes it does work in 1.2.21
2. No it doesn't encrypt message contents in the database

I'll continue my posts over in the thread I found on the plugin.
