Re: Welcome to FluxBB
I think FluxBB is not a fork of PunBB. FluxBB should be the succeeder of PunBB.
It's not relevant what you call it.
If you prefer to look at it as the 'succeeder', that's up to you.
The project goal is known to all of us for a long time, legal details like change name and so, are minor bureaucracy marks.

I like the name. I had to get used to it though.

Good idea. I give it a Chinese name: 轻翔论坛. It means fly so lightly.

Re: Welcome to FluxBB
Just stumbled here, glad I found you guys. I originally didn't understand all the whining over at PunBB. I usually wait for proof that there is trouble before complaining about change (I change from ezboard to punbb on a forum and my community thought I was the devil). That said, I trust the consensus of the smart guys that started this project, and if they are forking punbb then I am very interested to be a part of it.
Keep up the great work guys!

I think we don't need to make a Chinese name for it now. Some people will like it, but some people will hate it. Calling it FluxBB is the better method.
Take Google as an example: some people love "谷歌", but most of people hate this Chinese name, including me.

People can use English to chat with me. By the way, SMF 2.0 still looks odd.

Re: Welcome to FluxBB
Congratulations to everyone responsible, this is a big win for all the users, and of course you should have control over your project! I upgraded my 1.2.17 installation to 1.2.18 (simple) today with no issues.
The main site looks really nice (under the hood as well) and a good choice on the new name/domain. Thanks for the best (IMO) forum software out there, and best of luck in the future!

You could hardly call Fluke kit 'tools'. As far as I know, they only manufacture electronics related test and diagnostic equipment.

Re: Welcome to FluxBB
I'm here.
Good thing you've made this move guys. I've seen a few projects around who 'died' they got sold out. I'm pretty sure Rickard has made the right choice but nevertheless it means that I'm going to switch FluxBB anyway since I think that I share the same opinion as the current dev team.
If there's anything I can do, just let me know. I don't have that much spare time although I like to play around with projects like this while spending it. I work for a hosting company as a programmer for a living. If you guys need anything please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Re: Welcome to FluxBB
FluxBB sounds good to me too. Glad I found this place (was just testing out the PunBB1.3RC when I stumbled over here.)
Need to get the word out to all the PunBB fans out there...
