Re: Tracking Installs
Paul isn't waiting for anything, hes working on it, it just takes time, when he is finished, he'll commit it.

Re: Tracking Installs
oh yea i know but i was jsut saying that as in a post i made before he answered saying with all the stuff changing from what the other devs have been doing he was waiting til the weekend to start his stuff. Which was this past weekend. So this means we may be able to expect a possible new release sooner than everyone is actually thinking.
edit: or maybe that was a couple weekends ago but either way i think we expect that there is going to be a release soon.

Re: Tracking Installs
actually i dont think it will be very soon irmikeyb, it has been said it will be soon released, so unless its released, its not released, so just take it easy and do ur other internet work and when u come back after some time it will be there. its not just commiting paul, there will be alot of bugs and errors after paul commits and that need to fixed too before beta 3.

Re: Tracking Installs
Why would there be a lot of bugs and errors? There may be some but that is why it is a beta, what known bugs are there that we haven't fixed yet?

as u said, its beta, i can expect there will be alot of bugs, but that can be fixed one by one. so after paul works on it, in few days or may be a week beta 3 might be released.

Re: Tracking Installs
SuperMAG there is a good chance it will be coming in the near future. Yes there is that chance it won't and most people probally believe it won't but really there isn't that much left for the to do. Paul has the markup done as someone has said. This means he has only the CSS to work with and if he is given some free time aside from what he does it won't be very hard for him to complete. Check the trac the other devs have been doing there part and they won't need much time at all after the markup/css is committed to get there stufff done.
Also SuperMAG what do you mean by taking it easy and do my other internet work? Im in no rush it comes when it comes. Im using the latest SVN so I get fairly little amounts of updates at a time anyway so I have no problem waiting 2 more months for beta3 even.

Re: Tracking Installs
Ok, enough of this, any future posts in this topic need to be on the subject of the stats tracking system.

Re: Tracking Installs
Since no one else has suggested any other things in a while...
How about:
- Growth History (It would be nice to see data archived by a per month basis. Stuff like # of boards running FluxBB, # of users registered on a FluxBB board, # of topics/posts from all the FluxBB boards, etc. Each month you can see how big, or small, the project is getting.)
and for smaller requests:
- Display FluxBB board with the biggest user online count for that day
- Display FluxBB board with largest user online count ever
Hope these are potential good ideas

Re: Tracking Installs
They sound like nice ideas to me. Not sure how necessary they are - but then again, I guess these sorts of stats aren't necessary at all ...
