Ticket #792 (fixed bug)
Profile and signature img
- Created: 2013-01-05 13:53:10
- Reported by: Cloud
- Assigned to: quy
- Milestone: 1.5.10
- Component: code
- Priority: normal
I have checked the "box" for allow img in signatures and profile pictures, but they never show up.
Does it not work or something or am I forgetting something?

- Component set to parser.
Where do they not show up? What is displayed instead? Have you checked group permissions?
More details, please.

Thanks for the reply,
No signture pops up for any users and the avatar just gets like a broken links message. I checked all the options at the admin menu. The group permissions are enabled for signatures. I checked all the other options to make sure they are enabled aswell that have anything to do with profile pictures/signatures.
Have you applied any modifications? What is the exact message for "broken links message"? Do you have screenshots or URL to the forum so we can have a look?

Hmm, why is there no option to enable signatures for admins so everyone can see it without having to enable at profile>display ?
Is there no way to enable it by default for users?
Are you looking for this setting?
Administration > Permissions > Image tag in signatures
It is enabled to users by default once the above setting is enabled.

Yeah I enabled that, but some of the users are asking why they cannot see avatars or imgages in signatures. Now when I enable Profile>>Display>>Show img in sig I can see them, but others can't if they don't have that enabled?
My question is how do I set this to default since I have alot of memebers and not everyone knows how to do this. They expect it to be a global setting I can turn on and everyone can see eachothers Sigs and Avatars.
I understand the issue now.
For users that updated their settings under (Profile > Display), settings that are disabled under (Administration > Permissions) are saved as disabled for these users.
When these disabled settings under (Administration > Permissions) are enabled at a later date, then these settings (Profile > Display) are not enabled by default for these users.
One solution is to use phyMyAdmin to do a global update on these settings if you know how.
Developers: How to deal with this issue? In a way it is bug since it has been reported before.

Fixing this is somewhat complex, I believe. But we should definitely take this into account when redoing the permission system in v2.0.
