Ticket #76 (fixed bug)

Huge posts can break formatting

  • Created: 2010-07-27 20:39:47
  • Reported by: Reines
  • Assigned to: Reines
  • Milestone: 1.4.2
  • Component: parser
  • Priority: high

I haven't looked into the exact cause but it seems huge posts are being truncated before the correct limit. Also, quoting said posts seems to cause an error in the resulting markup.

The issue can be seen here.

It is guilty MySQL which writes down partially big messages with symbols in coded two bytes.

  • Owner set to Reines.
  • Status changed from open to fixed.

This should be fixed in bf17450.

It not the problem decision!
How to translate an old forum on FluxBB 1.4 if in an old forum there are long messages!?

It is necessary to replace field type ' message ' with TEXT on MEDIUMTEXT.

define('PUN_MAX_POSTSIZE', 65535); - So it is better.
Not to lose compatibility.

Reines 2010-07-28 15:16:46

I can't think of anything that could potentially be affected by increasing the limit?

Visman 2010-07-28 16:11:57

I do not know it.

This is funny. Changing the limit would, in a way, destroy backwards compatibility of language packs wink

Visman 2010-07-31 10:50:16

UP: At great values PUN_MAX_POSTSIZE it will be used much RAM.
