Ticket #726 (fixed enhancement)
- Created: 2012-08-16 13:37:43
- Reported by: Franz
- Assigned to: Franz
- Milestone: 2.0-alpha2
- Component: authentication
- Priority: highest
Laravel's authentication driver system helps greatly with integrating FluxBB with another site's auth system. However, as FluxBB requires some more features (like user groups and permissions) in order to work, we need to specify those requirements in an interface.
The idea is that people who want to write their own authentication adapter can do so, but would have to implement it against an interface predefined by us that tells them what we need for FluxBB to work.

The adapter would consist of migrations and hooks I suppose? (Which we still need to implement)

No, I was referring to a normal Laravel Auth driver, except that it needs to implement our interface, too.

It would also need to replace the old passwords into the new ones

Hello. I don't know nothing about Laravel, but do you think LDAP & PAM authentication could appear with the 2.0 FluxBB version ?
I'm working on LAN with a large community and all tools are connected to my LDAP server (dokuwiki too) : users don't need to register...
