Ticket #261 (fixed task)

"New replies" quick search

  • Created: 2011-01-28 09:25:56
  • Reported by: Franz
  • Assigned to: Franz
  • Milestone: 1.4.4
  • Component: usability
  • Priority: normal

In v1.4.3, we changed user quick searches to seem more intuitive.

Where the "show your posts" link showed all topics the user had posted in, it now displayed the posts by the user only.

What I did not realize or think of was that the old version can be very handy when trying to keep up with activity in threads you have participated in without the need to subscribe to all of them.

So I propose to add back that link as a "New replies" quick search in v1.4.4, which is very important especially for big boards (reference: the ArchLinux community).

I will do this this weekend, too. Don't worry.

Plus, if we still think of the "my bookmarks" concept for the future, this can be removed again in 2.0, as topics can then be bookmarked and the user can decide whether he wants to get notified by email in these bookmarked threads.

Now I've moved the mark as read link there should be space to fit this into the header without problems.

Commit eba3d13 to fluxbb master

#261: Simplify the quick search header layout and add another "Your replies" quicksearch.

This brings back the behaviour from the "Show your posts" link in previous versions.

Okay, I've commit this for now.

There may be some small changes and fixes as we're still waiting for some feedback, but consider it pretty much done.

  • Status changed from open to fixed.

This is done. We'll see if there will be changes. I'll close this anyway.
