Hi.

Can you please let me know:

  • How many posts do you have on your forum (rough number is fine)?

  • Do you have any modifications installed?

  • What values did you have for "posts per cycle" and "starting post ID"?

  • When you get the bad request message, what is the URL in the address bar?

Cheers.

Hi

I just tried to rebuild index with Wamp on an upgraded forum, I had no problems at all.

I don't think it's a bug.

  • Owner set to Reines.

At the moment it will say bad request if either the posts per page or starting post ID are left blank/non numeric/less than 1. I've just changed this to give a more appropriate error message for posts per page, and remove the limitation on starting post ID - since if it is left blank/less than 1 it will work anyway, just starting at the beginning.

I assume g65d45fg must have left one of these fields blank, but I'll leave the ticket open for now and give him time to reply/check.

I think he should have posted in General support (1.4).

Have you tried with a new installation?

What happens if you keep your database, but you put put original files?

  • Status changed from open to fixed.

Ah, that makes sense then. It isn't a bug, it's just a (very) badly worded error message - trying to rebuild the search index on a board with 0 posts makes no sense because there are no posts to index.

I've changed it to just silently do nothing and act as if its finished when asked to index a board with 0 posts, rather than giving an error.
