Ticket #227 (fixed bug)
Plugin calling "message()" fails
- Created: 2010-12-27 23:50:09
- Reported by: ridgerunner
- Assigned to: Franz
- Milestone: 1.4.3
- Component: code
- Priority: high
When the example plugin is installed (consisting of two files: plugins/AMP_Example.php and lang/English/admin_plugin_example.php), the plugin works as expected as long as the user types in some text before pressing the "Show Text" button. But when the button is pressed with no text entered, an error is generated reading:
An error was encountered
Error: Unable to fetch user group read permission.
This error happens when the message() function is called by the plugin. Note that this error does not occur in 1.4.2 so it must be due to some recent change.

- Component set to code.
- Description changed. (Diff)
- Milestone set to 1.4.3.
- Owner set to Franz.
Please add this in the correct project ("core") next time.

Sorry 'bout that.
But funny you say that. At the time I was entering this ticket there was a very limited choice for the Component dropdown select box. I looked at each option carefully but there was no "code" (or similar) option, or I would have chosen it. Thus, I selected no option as the best choice.
However, I see that now the options are there! Was someone messing with the "Submit new ticket" page perhaps?

Not quite. It depends on where you select "new ticket". In the menu in the left column, there are multiple links to "tickets". If you select it under "Core", you then get the correct "Add new ticket" link.
As a shortcut, you can just use the "Report a bug" link in the footer of the page.
