Re: FluxBB Wiki
Since the code is for Dokuwiki and not FluxBB, no, it can't be a FluxBB extension
Ok, I had mistakenly thought there would be changes required with both the forum code and the wiki code. So I just have to drop the authentication code into the wiki and it should 'just work'!

Re: FluxBB Wiki
KO: The authentication layer is Dokuwiki code. If you upload the file and configure Dokuwiki to use it, it will "just work"

Re: FluxBB Wiki
How should FluxBB know what mods you have installed and what tables they have created?

Re: FluxBB Wiki
Yes, FluxBB should definitely be dropping any tables it doesn't recognize from the database. That's a great idea. It's not like that would have any impact on other systems... oh wait. ![]()

Re: FluxBB Wiki
ok smart people how can you tell which mod is that table and remove when you have more then 100 installed ....
i have a simple idea that a kid can make up with it .... why not make a script that remove all the tables that are not recognized by 1.3 ... or that are not in 1.3 tables list

Re: FluxBB Wiki
It would be nice with some info about websiteintegration in the wiki. Maybe some pun-stuff can be "translated" to flux-stuff?
For e.g; http://punbb.informer.com/docs/dev.html#integration
When searching the flux forum its mostly "use external.php" and the next msg is "dont use that", and maybe a third saying "just use this, pull it from db" without how its done :S :-)

Re: FluxBB Wiki
And that is why we wouldn't use the PunBB documentation ![]()
It's an old holdover from the 1.2 days. extern.php, as was said in the topic that you obviously read, is meant to be used to syndicate data outside of the current site. If you're on the same site, you likely have access to the database, and therefore running a query and fetching the results will give you less overheard than a full extra HTTP request.
I don't happen to have time to write up a good wiki page on integrating content, although eventually there should be an extension which provides helper functions for doing just that.

Re: FluxBB Wiki
1.2 is still a current final release of FluxBB, so it wouldn’t be prudent to completely forgo its support or respective wiki. ![]()
Not only do I not know the answer,
I don’t even know what the question is

Re: FluxBB Wiki
The advice itself (use database queries over HTTP request) isn't any less true for 1.2 ![]()
And there are syndication pages for 1.2 and 1.3 that describe how to use them.

Mayhaps I am looking in the wrong place or looking for the wrong things, but all I see is extern.php this and extern.php that. ![]()

Re: FluxBB Wiki
Yes, when I said "them" I meant extern.php. It's a how-to on syndicating content, not on integrating existing content into your site.
