Font difference between OS X and XP are personal preference, and personally I think the fonts on OS X are ugly. Just like the rest Apple has spewed out.

Just because the standard Windows Fonts aren't the best for designing (Calibri for Text is for example a very good font) doesn't mean a designer on windows is using the standard fonts.

I vote for screenshots for the reasons already mentioned.
Also with screen shots along with a text tutorial you can print out a hard copy.
