where to insert 3rd party code?

Has anyone used, or does anyone use, Free Web Analytics Software - Analytics - Piwik? Integrated with FluxBB? I use this software on a couple other sites just fine. What file should Piwik's JS anchor code be inserted into? ATM, I have it inserted into footer.php. This does not generate any errors, but I don't know if there's a better file to hack. Maybe common.php? Or config.php, where I put a call to ZBblock, according to SpambotSecurity.com - View forum - FluxBB.

thanks, -Bruce

Mmm, I think the footer is the best place for this kind of stuff. Better you don't put  anything in the congif.php file, as soon as there is an error in the code of that file, it is possible for everyone to see the content of it, including your password, etc.

Thanks for the confirmation. There is a 'plugin/mod' page here - Integrate your website or app - Analytics - Piwik. Maybe I'll try to pick apart one of those plugins to see what it's doing.. There is a plugin for Laravel too..

A cleaner solution is to use templates. Add your code to include/tpl/main.tpl.

Ha! I did just that, about 20 seconds ago. I'll make notes how that works out. Thanks.
