User List

Hello There,

Is there a way to make it so the user list is not visible? if so how?  If this is only available when not logged in, how?  I do not see a setting on the admin console but I noticed user list not showing up here when not logged in.  However, on my forums it is there all the time.  Just need some direction.

Kind regards,
Saxamo

Re: User List

Open: header.php

Find:

if ($pun_user['g_read_board'] == '1' && $pun_user['g_view_users'] == '1')
	$links[] = '<li id="navuserlist"'.((PUN_ACTIVE_PAGE == 'userlist') ? ' class="isactive"' : '').'><a href="userlist.php">'.$lang_common['User list'].'</a></li>';

Change To:

//if ($pun_user['g_read_board'] == '1' && $pun_user['g_view_users'] == '1')
	//$links[] = '<li id="navuserlist"'.((PUN_ACTIVE_PAGE == 'userlist') ? ' class="isactive"' : '').'><a href="userlist.php">'.$lang_common['User list'].'</a></li>';

That will hide the userlist for everyone in the main menu.

I think thats the only link to userlist so you should then be able to delete userlist.php.

Re: User List

Thanks for the information.  I also found this after I posted, but then got a phone call so I was unable to respond quick enough.  I just don't want people thinking I am not searching first.

Thanks!

Re: User List

Indeed - the group permission for viewing user information is the right way to go.

Doesn't that also prevent people from viewing user profiles too though?

On my forum I don't want user profiles to be inaccessible to anyone, but I do want to prevent everyone from viewing the userlist. Each to their own smile

Re: User List

You're right - yeah, in that case your solution would be the way to go.
