The Air style converted to RTL forum doesn't work in some browsers...
Wow.. It's absolutely doesn't supported by Opera and IE8!
Translated all of the interface in the CSS to r-t-l.
Chrome and Firefox shows it beautiful, even no one regression in the style.. ALL Perfect !!
But Opera show it half good and IE8 is absolutely does not show it correct.
See the screenshots below
This is the screen shot of the original not translated Air provided by the admins here:![]()
In Chrome all perfect:![]()
Firefox as Chrome show ok:![]()
Now look at Opera 10.5. Most of the problems in the converted style is like you see at the bottom, that the icons the must be on the right of the text shown in the background, and its not just on the index. but on all of the pages.![]()
And now look at Internet Explorer 8 and see. I can't even think on how I can resolve this problems ! it even doesn't look like forum.. ![]()

I don't know what to do... ![]()

Quite possibly, but not at the moment.

IE is broken. period. why do you expect good results from a broken browser?

I doubt anyone expects good results from that piece of crap, but until users let it die the horrible and agonising death it deserves, some modicum of work to make things look passable for IE is inevitable, (although even I'll admit to thinking "sod it" where IE is concerned, of late).

Funnily enough, that doesn't exude a warm, cushy feeling.
You can paint crap white but it will still be crap, and I doubt IE will ever be anything other than. Anyhows, last I heard, they didn't even have a year for arrival approximated, ne'er mind a rough timespan.

Dunno but the preview came out recently. Apparently it actually is faster than Firefox at javascript benchmarks. Also is claiming it will support HTML5 and CSS3, but I'll believe it when I see it. Still does terrible on ACID3 which isn't much of a surprise.

Apparently they weren't planning on supporting XHTML fully initially, from what I heard. Sounds like they've changed that stance now though. Can't see them ever getting it anything like, personally. I'm guessing it'll end up the same as always. Looks alright from the users point of view but cocks everything up with a vengeance from the coding side of things.
Just sidetracking on the HTML5 point for a moment, am I the only one who seems to think that it appears like a half-hearted hack to try and make it something like 'cos they realised they'd dropped the ball?

Can you please help me when you will have the time? I wanted to run the hebrew fluxBB community with the release of 1.4 final, but i can't do this without properly working skin on all browsers..
IE is broken. period. why do you expect good results from a broken browser?
Yeah, but the english version of Air is working ok..
And without it i can't run a website cause most users use Internet Explorer..
P.S - I don't believe in IE. It's not a browser - I can't believe why people still using it !?

Re: The Air style converted to RTL forum doesn't work in some browsers...
I've been experimenting. I can get rtl to work just fine in IE6, IE7 and IE8. I can't get it to work in Opera 10.5 which appears to be extremely buggy. I may be able to get it work in Opera 10.2 which seems to behave a little better. I think I will leave finishing the rtl styesheet until after RC2 is released and any remaining bugs have been ironed out.

Re: The Air style converted to RTL forum doesn't work in some browsers...
If anybody has an up-to-date rtl language pack, Hebrew, Arabic whatever could they email me a copy. Testing in English is a little problematic because if something appears to be transposed incorrectly its difficult to tell if its a bug or if its because the language string was created for left to right.

Re: The Air style converted to RTL forum doesn't work in some browsers...
I think Paul completed an RTL version, but we decided not to include it by default since a very small proportion of users will want it. The idea was to make it available on the new website, but I'm sure Paul would send you it if you asked. ![]()

Yes, I need it because I myself couldn't translate it as you see and I'm working on hebrew support community for fluxbb.
So please make it available somewhere or send it to me to: plazzmex [at] gmail [dot] com
I will thank paul very much.

Re: The Air style converted to RTL forum doesn't work in some browsers...
I will get something sorted this weekend. I found I had to modify some of the methods used in the main stylesheets because webkit threw a tantrum. I may therefore modify the main stylesheets as well so the same css is used for both ltr and rtl.

Re: The Air style converted to RTL forum doesn't work in some browsers...
I'm nearly finished but have a question.
Codeboxes ares slightly screwed particularly in Opera. It seems there are problems with overflow: auto on rtl setups.
My question is should codeboxes be rtl at all. They will almost always contain code which will always be in English. Shouldn't code which is in a pre tag be preserved as left to right.
Incidentally, how do Hebrew or Arabic speakers cope with commenting code. The code is in English (ltr) and the comments in Hebrew/Arabic (rtl).
