FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
Today we have finally got around to releasing FluxBB-1.4-RC1! To download it please visit the development release download page.
The RC1 contains many bug fixes since the last beta, as well as slight improvements to the style sheets & markup (in anticipation of new styles to be added before the final release). It should now also support upgrading from FluxBB-1.3-Legacy.
Note: When performing an upgrade we do not drop any extra fields or tables, in-case they belong to your website or mods. This means upgrading from 1.3 will leave behind the extensions and extension_hooks tables. These can safely be deleted if you want to keep things tidy.
If you would like changesets or patches, for 1.4-beta(2) they can be found in the release folder, for 1.2.x they can be generated by Trac as required.
As usual, please report any bugs you may find in the Bug reports (1.4) board.

Re: FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
Downloaded ! ![]()
Just a newbie question : I installed the 1.4beta version. How can I upgrade to 1.4-rc1 ? Should I simply override all the files by uploading the new one or is there a script to run after uploading ? I guess that's not the case but I'm not sure, so...
Thanks in advance. ![]()

Re: FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
You should be fine with just uploading the files. If not, it will ask you to execute a script...
If the forum is important - backup, please!
After file overriding, the execution of the db_??????.php script was needed to update my local installation. All went right for what I saw for the moment. Good work ! ![]()
Thanks for your help ![]()

You can update now and test yourself, too
You don't have to use your production board, you can always test with a backup in some other location if you fear it could break down.

Re: FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
Ah, OxygenB cannot work on this version.
I need to update it after my final exam.
Why not bring back 1.3's Oxygen to 1.4? It is not difficult at all.

I'm not sure if any have been updated yet, but we have something in mind so stay tuned ![]()
Is there a hidff for FluxBB 1.2.22 to 1.4-rc1 ?
Yes, though it's rather large! (a fair amount is unimportant things, such as changing the license comments on each file etc). http://fluxbb.org/trac/changeset?old_pa … bb-1.4-rc1
I would know one thing : can I begin to modify this RC, will be there a lot of modifications in the final release ?
The only changes will be bug fixes or very minor tweaks.

Which means you should be fine applying a patch when 1.4 final is released.

Yes, but my forum is modded a lot... If I modify it, I think the patch will not work correctly...

Re: FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
Just installed this on a test forum with no problems. Seems to be working fine so far, but the default text size is a bit small for these eyes. This is easily remedied via CSS though. Looking forward to seeing what the new theme looks like. Hope it's along the lines of 1.3, which I really like.

Re: FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
Hi ![]()
I don't see any explanation for installing 1.4 version. I guess we should do as in the 1.2 version ? What about the database (I'm talking about a new installation, not an upgrade) ? Shall we do something special (I would like to install it on a mysql 5 basis) ?
Thanks!

Re: FluxBB-1.4-RC1 released
A clean install is just a case of uploading the files then browsing to the install.php script and following the instructions.

Here is a Shell script I wrote to automate the SVN pull daily. Might be helpful to some

# Script created 2008-03-27 by Tommy Evans (hostbunch.com) to dump a production database into a test database
