Main Menu Links
Ok with all these extensions we will no doubt have a few more than the normal links at the top.
Normal: Index User list Search Profile Logout
A couple of the extensions currently created have hard coded the position of these links (example... elbekkos mibbit is after the logout/login link). I personally like to have the power to move the links around to what I feel is best.
Any chance we can improve this? or at the least when you write the documentation for extension coders to have some sort of agreement on adding links.
Maybe all developers should make it so that the link is added to additional menu items. Then they can be changed by the user as they wish?

Re: Main Menu Links
Appending is easy, removing then becomes harder though.
But yes, it's worth thinking about from an extension development perspective.

Re: Main Menu Links
I dont see an easy way to do this.
But it does need to be thought about... If I need to change extension code to position my links better, it kind of defeats the point of one-click installs.

Re: Main Menu Links
It would be nice to have the option to re-order all of the links, including the core ones, in the admin panel somewhere?

This would be great but I dont think its the flux way of thinking. It would be a great addition to the core though.

Re: Main Menu Links
Someone could always make an extension that reorders them I guess

This is true. But dont you think this is a core function? not so much the default ones but any extension links created.

So its the choice of the extension creator to position the link? I dont agree on that.

Re: Main Menu Links
Then the extension can give the user the option, nothing is stopping the extension simply adding to the additional menu items list. or giving it as their own setting.

I dont mind that way. I was coming up with other ideas because of what smartys said.

I will leave it to the dev team to sort out in the documentation then.

Re: Main Menu Links
Basically it just seems unreasonable to add this to the core, when we don't have any other extension settings, and lots of people either won't have extensions, or won't have extensions that add things to the menu.
That being said, the more I think about it the more I don't like the way it is now, but I can't think of a better solution right now.
