Maximum Amount of Topic Pages
Does anyone know what the maximum amount of pages are, before things begin to get "wonky"?

That's dependent on the database server, not the code. If you're having specific performance issues, we can try and help you diagnose and fix them, but it's not like there's a constant hardcoded somewhere that causes instability when the number of topics reaches a certain number.
