Avatars

When you upload a avatar it resizes it to the max size you have defined in the settings, so it puts it out of proportion and enlarges it so it's pixelated and horrible. Is there anyway around this without writing a fix? I really don't understand why anyone would write it to do that.

Re: Avatars

No it doesn't? hmm I recall a few people having issues with replacing an old avatar with a new one, and their browser kept the old one cached, but that was purely a caching issue.

Re: Avatars

I don't have this problem on 1.2.

I think your browser cache needs to be cleared. For some reason the browser forces the size of the old avatar on the new avatar sometimes.

Edit: Damn it, Reines!

Re: Avatars

I uploaded a avatar (60x60px) and it's now 100x100px. I just downloaded the avatar and it's actually changed the size. It's a fresh install of FluxBB on a fresh install of XAMPP. Any suggestions?

Re: Avatars

Did you download it with your browser ("Save as"...) or via FTP?

Re: Avatars

A fresh install of FluxBB does not do any resizing, period.

Re: Avatars

It was something to do with PHP, I'm not sure what but I installed WAMP and the problem went away. Cheers guys.

Re: Avatars

You just had to clear your browser cache though.

We might be able to solve this by appending a ?q=<timestamp or hash> to the avatar url.

Nope, believe me, something caused it. I uploaded a redundant image originally and then uploaded the proper avatar which got re-sized. I constantly hit F5 and even CTRL + F5 with no luck, so I downloaded the image and sure enough it had been re-sized. This went away when I re-installed WAMP.

Re: Avatars

Press Ctrl+Shift+Del in Firefox then clear your cache. That's what I meant.
