Best wiki and best blog software outthere ?

Does anybody can help me find the best wiki software and the best blog software ?

I'm looking for both those peaces of software that are with the goal like FluxBB - be only with the essential features, very small size and very fast.

For wikis I know that there are two the most popular - MediaWiki and DokuWiki. But, look at their download sizes:
MediaWiki = 10 and a half megabyte before extraction and I don't want even start downloading it !
DokuWiki = 6 Megabyte after extraction..

Blog softwares there are two the most popular: Drupal and WordPress. But also they are very big and not so essential only !

Help me find blog and wiki software and has the same goal as fluxBB.

Ok.. I've checked more than 20 (or even more) different software packages
And didn't find anything better than WordPress for blog software and dokuwiki or mediawiki for wiki software..
Seriously guys, there isn't better one.
So i've chosed WordPress for my blog and dokuwiki for wiki (because mediawiki isn't so simple for the new admin user.)
There is a minus for dokuwiki - it stores data in flatfiles instead of faster databases, so it will be kinda slow if using with many articles and users.

I don't like being hosted by someone.
I mean i like todownload the software and install it on host i chose.

Pluxml
Very lightweight, based on xml files (no database required).
Sorry but, not tested and in French...

If you don't understand some explanation on the pluxml site, don't hesitate to ask me to translate what you need to know...
I didn't mentionned that there's a wiki integration proposal [ http://wiki.pluxml.org/ ] and the forums are powered by FluxBB [ http://forum.pluxml.org/ ].
Somebody talk about that solution on the fluxBB board (I don't remember who and where...), that's how I came to this application...

Jojaba, I think think Pluxml is very usable for a user who can't speak French. Everything in Pluxml is French, even the code comments and some filenames. And I couldn't find a way to use an other language.

As I said, I didn't test it, I just saw the site that MattF mentionned and was surprised that this application is developped by a french user.

But damned, why should the french comments be a problem !!! This english egemonie is really embarrasising, nobody would say anything if all was in english !!! The code is in english, that should be enough to understand what it does and to make it work no?

It probably isn't aimed at other people that French people (damn those French ). So I guess it isn't a problem that it's only French.

I found a translation script on their site : http://wiki.pluxml.org/?page=traduire_l … _de_pluxml (only for version 4.2 and for the frontend, not the backend)...

Tiddlywiki is probably as small as you can get with wiki software but then I don't think its suitable for public hosting
