Ever thought of placing the Last edited by hcgtv (Today 16:05:56) in the same line as Report Quote left justified?

Re: Last edited
Interesting, I just messed around with some markup to see it and it doesn't look too bad. ![]()
The only objection I would have to it is that the usual place for the Last edited information (at least at every forum I remember visiting) is directly underneath the post contents.

Re: Last edited
Having the last edited underneath the last line of content has always felt weird to me, out of place in a way, and that's on any forum I've ever come across.
Just a suggestion, cause we do have the space to place it somewhere else.

Re: Last edited
My objection is the footer is reserved for actions and nothing else. When you say there is space thats only true of this style and might not be once somebody has added extensions which add more links. It also makes no sense semantically. You also have to remember that under some circumstances the footer isn't present at all
Either the edited information is part of the post or part of the information about the post. That means it either goes in the body of the post or it goes in the post header.

Post header sounds good to me.

Re: Last edited
I think it could be put nicely aligned left in .post-options, with the same size as the report and quote links (because right now, it's humongous for rather trivial information).

What about having it in the header?

I can't do that just with css. If you want to move markup around you have to try and imagine all possible future styles.
Basically, its not going in the post footer. I haven't actually styled it yet which is probably why it looks big and annoying.
