I don't think so, but since beta 2 is a rather new software I doubt there are already spam bots out there.

You can quit your doubts, as there are spam bots already.
They used guest account to post, after I disallowed it they continue spamming and flooding with registration.

I didn't know, I guess your best chance is trying to convert a captcha mod from 1.2 to 1.3.

If you want a captcha extension for 1.3, why not try out Reines' one. It might need adjusting for the latest SVN though.

I’m still waiting for beta3, so I could start converting my text-based anti-spam (MattF’s, to be proper) for the new soft.

I'm sure they scrape search results for "Powered by FluxBB" to find their victims. Maybe this needs rethinking as a default. Image perhaps?

Rather than use capture, I manually authorise users. Every new registrant is assigned a usergroup called Registrants with only guest permissions, email notification informs me someone needs processing and if appropriate, I'll edit their group to full Member to allow them to post.
Fine for low volumes.
