And as already replied to your first post here you are not speaking for the French community so stop saying so please.
Do you mean "french speaking community" ?

1.2/1.4 : I say NO
2.0 : I can't wait for
and:
Version 1.3
We will not be continuing to directly develop version 1.3 ...
...
We do not intend to support this release, ...
So FluxBB dev team pushes me to return to PunBB, it's sure!
The last word (maybe) to dev team: you are killing a nice OSS project. It's sad, so sad!

I'm using 1.3-r718 now. If there is no extension feature in 1.4, I would like to say NO to 1.4 and try stay with 1.3-r718.modified_by_me.
For 2.0, sorry, I can't wait for it.

I see quite a bit of html here and there in the code. I suggest you guys move it all to templates. which kind of template engine are you planning to use? ure php syntax? Simple string replacement? A template system like smarty?
Personally, I say No, No and No to Smarty in FluxBB !
FluxBB = Simple, Fast, Speed and please KISS !

1.4 won't support extensions, as 1.2 doesn't either.
So why not just call 1.2.something instead of 1.4 which makes total confusion with the current 1.3 -devel branch ?

It's in the hidden items section in Oxygen.css, probably meant to also hide the 'Pages' text.
So, do something output to HTML page and at the same time keep them hidden with CSS style ? Sorry, I can't understand this ![]()

I see some people already using r718 and I'd like to do the same (I know, it's a svn version with bugs but it's at my own risk), the only worry is I can't update my forum when 2.0 come out so my today choice will close the door on my future.
Why you can't do this ?

Hi,
In table "users", if I found the field "activate_key" is NULL, so this user was validated (by e-mail address) and his account was activated, right ?
Thanks,

As it is now, while we're waiting for 1.3 to be finished, alot of people are leaving, which could eventually lead to FluxBB's death, which would be bad.
I come to FluxBB from 1.2.x PunBB. I don't like to use fluxbb 1.2.* and I can't wait for 1.3-final (when ?), so I live with 1.3-dev r718 and I'm relatively happy with this until now.
I don't like to return again to punbb 1.3.x. But only the God know what will arrive.
Waiting, waiting and waiting for 1.3-final of fluxbb is really boring for me ![]()

1.2* - No-one is suggesting that the current devs carry on with anything other than security fixes. If you note, I myself, as well as others, have mentioned that their efforts would be best concentrated on the latest release. There are other people on here willing to take on the burden of further developing the 1.2* branch.
Yep, a smart devel team will do exactly what you said ![]()

I don't think you've been reading carefully what I've said.
The way I see it now, there are at least three ideas about this floating around:
Have separate devs for the 1.2 (1.4) branch (as suggested at least by Smartys, Elbekko, me…)
Develop both branches with the same developers (yann, …?)
Stop developing 1.2 (only maintaining security fixes) and focus all efforts on the 1.3 (2.0) branch instead (Rich, ridgerunner)
You seem to be under the impression that I support C, and still want to use 1.2.
Yes, I vote for C. ![]()

Please reconsider your position - you don't have enough people to maintain two branches. Maintain 1.2 with security fixes, release a rock solid, evolutive 2.0, and then add features, regularly, making sure the upgrades are easy.
Agreed 100% !

I'm using 1.3-dev r718.
Thanks

Correct. Maybe there should be the changes like template system etc. until 2.0 release.
But people have been waiting for a new version for a long time. So, finish the markup, release it as 1.5, and work on 2.0!!
1.5 or 2.0 or whatever you want, but 1.3-final should be released, of course with finished markup work in this.
I don't think we need more feature for 1.2. Just security fix is ok. You have not powerful team (at last I think) so have to focus the work to important branch (1.3 here).
