The first will remain true for the 1.4 version, the 2.0 version code will be significantly more complicated, but hopefully still understandable, we just can't implement extensions and templates without it being less straightforward.
The database structure should be very similar, I think 1.4 will probably be released with a script that will update from 1.3 or 1.2, 2.0 will probably be released with a script that updates from 1.3 or 1.4 (if there is demand a 1.2 -> 2.0 script will probably also be created). We don't want to leave users stranded with a database incompatible with any current version
That is a huge relief!
I understand as fluxbb evolves that the core structure is going to inevitably change. I'll make do when it's released and familiarize myself with it as well.
Also, thanks for the reassurance of database compatibility and keeping those of us in mind that are sticking to old faithful (1.2.21) until 2.0's debut.
I can only imagine how much effort it takes and how time consuming all this will be so I have nothing but the utmost respect for you and the rest of the team Connor. Thanks again! ![]()

All the more power to the devs for putting together v1.4 and v2.0.
I'll be patiently waiting for those releases and in the meantime make do in modifying another clean 1.2 copy since 1.3 won't be coming anytime soon.
I only hope for two things though. The first being that the coding stays true to how it's been in 1.2 being nice simple and straightforward. I've learned a lot from looking over 1.2's code and have become familiar in how and where to tweak whatever is needed. The second is that the database structure stays fairly similiar, my only fear is not being able to update due to having a different db structure and then the headache of making a script/query to correct that.

It looks and feels streamlined, simple, and easy on the eyes in my opinion. Plus if it bothers an individual that much I can imagine that it wouldn't be that difficult to completely change the way posts are displayed through extensions correct? ![]()

Sort of off-topic but..

Well, let's give them a chance to fix those 894 errors before we lay judgment.
I'm planning to make the code "prettier" when we switch over to 1.3 and turn all the modifications into extensions as we recently switched to 1.2.20 ![]()
