Cool smile

Question: Which version(s) of 1.3 would we be able to upgrade to 1.4 from? Or would it be a matter of updating to the latest 1.3 and then to 1.4?

(fyi: I was sent here due to the twitter tweet smile)

You can ban them, yes.

Go to their profile and then to Administration.

it's okay, someone else helped me sort it out.  i tried that but that didn't work.  the person who helped me fix it was able to do it, i don't know how though.

I'm not exactly sure what you were doing wrong. The only problems I had when importing your db and stuff was induced by the fact I told you to set some folder permissions incorrectly.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Once 1.3 (or 2.0, whichever you prefer) has been released and extensions have been developed providing all the functionality of a current "heavily modified 1.2.* forum", what will be the point in 1.2 (namely 1.4)?

As far as I can tell, the main reason people do not want to upgrade to 1.3 from 1.2 is that they will lose all the extra functionality they have implemented via hard-code.

Won't 1.2/1.4 be a somewhat: Fast; lightweight; user-friendly; inextensible forum?

Just out of curiosity, which version would the FluxBB Forum run?

I am all for new ideas ... but I can't help agreeing with what MattF said.

Well, I can do all of those things, and have been where I can. I used to help people endlessly on BF2S (a BF2 orientated forum (when Battlefield 2 was new/popular)) and have contributed a lot to the Wiki there.

I keep meaning to contribute to the FluxBB Wiki but keep finding myself short of time. Or rather, when I do have spare time I spend it doing other things.

Moderating forums is what I do - in terms of internet life - but you guys don't really need that here (yet, anyway).

Hrm, I sure wish I had some skills to contribute.

I plan on modifying it so that it is a soft delete extension, rather than a log.

Well, it might be easier to start from scratch - but we'll see.

I guess that's fair enough.

Personally, I'm running an SVN version of FluxBB (even though it's not advised) on my site which, expectedly, has a few niggles but other than that it's pretty much perfect. As are these support forums.

Based on forum activity and the timeline, I'd say it's far far away from being dead ...

"Real"?

They're both "real".
