Unfortunately no one can be told what FluxBB is - you have to see it for yourself.

It potentially saves bandwidth because you don't have to load a separate page. It could be done like this (PunBB, but looks the same anyway) does it as it wouldn't really clash with the layout much.

It's bottlenecking MySQL connections though, Slicehost offers root access and Slicehost offers more control over the server.

Ah alright then.

Would it not be possible to have the ability to join more than one group added in in the future?

On PunBB you can only have a member join one group at a time, does FluxBB fix this or not?

It's really annoying, our site is fully intergrated into PunBB atm. So it would be hard for us to change to FluxBB unless the site was rewritten, but there are several groups on the forums.

Alright, goodo.

I'm just thinking if a 256mb Slice will be enough, the site gets quite a bit more traffic than this site (I'm not sure about the stats, tbh, but it looks like the forums are more active) so I'm a bit concerned about performance.

I don't get paid from the site, btw, it dosen't make any money and the hosting is donated by the site founder, who currently uses Media Temple.

If I had money I would pay for a 512mb Slice for it myself, but I'm too young to be employed so yeah.

Oh we're planning on hosting it on a 256mb slice because the cost is the same as our current hosting.

I love Slicehost, also which Distro are you using?

I'm persuading my boss to switch the website to Slicehost, we actually use PunBB on the site but I can use this forum to demonstrate to him how quick the server will be if we change.

So I was wondering what Slice (for instance, 256mb, 512mb) this site is hosted on?

It's currently in the fourth stage of Alpha (D) and I'm about to start adding new features and rewriting a lot of admin panel code. It now features separate HTML from PHP (template) and is completely less than 150kb thanks to it's use of no images.

If your not going to make any significant changes then why bother to rename it "1.4" at all, why not just a feature release of 1.2?

Small Content Management System I wrote which doesn't use MySQL databases. It's less than 100kb and still in Alpha, but is usable.

What do you think?

Yes, it is the FluxBB website.

Much better than any other "leightweight forum software", though it's still in continuous development. I'm hoping to release something similar but with more features.

Never bothered to use WAMP, I use XAMPP, I found it first and it's pretty easy to use.
