You are right, liquidat0r.
We (at fluxbb.fr) are working on a french language pack. There is already an install.php file in it, (but) wich is not used by install.php as there is no way to choose the language.
This new feature (an install.php language file) seems very interesting and well thought : it localize the installation page plus it defines some things for the database (first post, group names, …)

I'm just impatient to try it smile

It may not be the right place to post it but I don't know if it fits on feature request, bugs or discussions…
It's probably not a "bug", just hasn't been done yet…
Installation is only available in English
A list of available languages or a drop-down menu on installation page would be great smile

I think it's in "/lang/English/index.php" file wink

I thought there were only extension to add new features.
(no criticism in this, I'm just surprised wink)

Well. Wouldn't it be good to use dl+dt+dd instead of ul+li to show that items have direct relationship with each other ?
(the only reasons I can see now is that we can't use h3 in the same time... or someone disagree with the use of definition lists for anything else than definitions)

Not worth being answered ?

Yes.
Which in French does:

  1. 0 invité (or aucun invité)

  2. 1 invité

  3. % invités

What about something like the lock.conf file used by Unclassified NewsBoard ?

http://newsboard.unclassified.de/docs/install#lockfile

Once the installation, import or update has completed, there will be an empty file called lock.conf in the base directory. The only function this file has with its existance is to disable these very scripts so that nobody can re-run the setup again and reset all data this way. It’s safe to remove the file when you also removed all install/import/update PHP scripts (e.g. install.php).

I'm sorry but I didn't see the other threads before posting smile.
And Paul's answers seems correct.

For search page problem, it may be possible to add a "Perform new search" link on top a search result and disable the link attribute of search the menu item for both search results and search form.

So let's try to be more precise... tongue

- Forum's name and "Index" on index
- search on search pages (see above)

- the recurrent problem of post id vs topic id+page in url (which also causes duplicate contents but uses less requests to data base)
I just read it on the other thread and never thought about it since I've never changed this option... but I think that is a good reason why it's not possible to change it

Everyone has/can have a different number of posts per page. Therefore, a link to a specific post that relies on page number is impossible.

But in this case, using the id of the first post of the page, even if it needs one more request to data base could be a good solution in order to have always the same url and to know if we have to show a link or a only a text.

I've read a French translation of this very interesting post and I think that it could be a good idea to apply these recommendations to fluxBB.

In short :
- Never, ever link to the page you’re on
- Show where you are
- Think before you link

I think 3rd is already done, and 2nd is mainly css...
