@hcgtv: Wordpress is only used for the blog. The other sections are custom PHP. I was actually planning to use django for the entire site eventually if the site goes well, but I used PHP initially to get the site running and to have control over the backend myself.
Oh, I see - Wordpress is just really easy to get up and going - gotcha.
Hey, I wasn't knocking Wordpress, far be it from me to criticize another free and open software project. I just happen to use Textpattern, so when I see a web designer using a competitive product, the marketing voice in me asks why.
I downloaded Tripoli, I'll have a look at it.

I will of course credit flux if I continue to use it on the site! But probably in the global footer since I credit other components there (jquery, tripoli etc).

Parts of your site are powered by Wordpress also. Since you are a designer by trade, can I ask you why you chose Wordpress for the site? Don't want to sidetrack this thread but I just wonder sometimes.

For 1.4 it might be worthwhile to look at replacing our dblayer with a third party library, but not before then.
I've yet to see a dblayer from a third party that doesn't add a lot of bloat. There is an ADOdb lite, but even it weighs in at twice what FluxBB contains.

On the search page, specifically doing a New posts search, my eyes have to pay attention to where I have to click when there are page numbers mixed in.

Not saying the new way is wrong, I guess I'm used to the old way, where New Posts was in it's own brackets. Any way to distinguish it from the page numbers?

It seems a little expensive, yup. For slightly less, I have a Celeron 220, 1Gb, 250Gb, 100Mb unmetered.
For a VPS, it's not expensive, compared to other VPS plans.
Where is that Celeron config?
