U can measure now how this "feature" is important for us ("foreign" communities).
Second that ... localized admin (or not) is one point where users decide them against FluxBB. (The second point is the documentation)
I know what I'm speaking about - I'm leading a translation project for a CMS with hundreds of modules .

Not going to happen. There is a (slight) chance of this happening later, but the main problem is backwards compatibility, so that we might (probably not, except if the community can help us a lot) offer another version for those that don't care about backwards compatibility. But that's another version and thus, more work again.
You could of course aim it at forwards compatability with v2.

New administration localisation package released. See the first message of this topic. ![]()

jojaba: You will see that there have been a few updates to admin though its mainly markup not language strings. If you like I will update your package and post it back to you.

I saw that rss feed was added in administration options. Is there not strings to localize ?

Yes, there are a couple of things but I know where and what they are.

I've updated it to r1342 but haven't tested it yet. I will post a link for you once tested.

Updated package to r1344.

The package only contains English language files. I don't intend leaving it up for very long as I'm not going to be the one maintaining it. If you want to see what changed in the language files:

jojaba: can you post to confirm that you've grabbed it at which point I will delete it.

Hi Paul!
I downloaded your package. Can you please leave the diffs a while, I will use them to update the other languages...
Didn't see any rss feed or atom feed string (I thought the rss options where added shortly...).
Thanks a lot.

Lines 97 to 101 of admin_options for the feed stuff. If there is anything I missed let me know. I will leave everything in place just in case there are further admin updates.

Paul, u'r the best !! ![]()
Seriously, in the name of French community (and for others as well), i THANK YOU...
(et évidemment, je remercie également Jojaba pour traiter le sujet).
I updated my trunk folder [r23 to r26]. As you can see, I found 2 strings not localized:
in admin_bans.php (line 372) » updated the corresponding lang file by adding 'Ban expires' on line 39
In admin_users.php (line 348) » Updated the corresponding lang file by adding 'No match' on line 67
cyberman, could you please translate the strings in the German folder (I paste them in english)?
I found other strings to translate (or not?), not sure they should be localized, in admin_index, line 104 to 116:
// Check for the existence of various PHP opcode caches/optimizers
if (function_exists('mmcache'))
$php_accelerator = '<a href="http://turck-mmcache.sourceforge.net/">Turck MMCache</a>';
else if (isset($_PHPA))
$php_accelerator = '<a href="http://www.php-accelerator.co.uk/">ionCube PHP Accelerator</a>';
else if (ini_get('apc.enabled'))
$php_accelerator ='<a href="http://www.php.net/apc/">Alternative PHP Cache (APC)</a>';
else if (ini_get('zend_optimizer.optimization_level'))
$php_accelerator = '<a href="http://www.zend.com/products/zend_optimizer/">Zend Optimizer</a>';
else if (ini_get('eaccelerator.enable'))
$php_accelerator = '<a href="http://eaccelerator.net/">eAccelerator</a>';
else if (ini_get('xcache.cacher'))
$php_accelerator = '<a href="http://xcache.lighttpd.net/">XCache</a>';What do you think Paul?
Do you have a gmail account Paul? It would be great if you could direktly update on my svn Google code page if some changes occurs in the next time ![]()
I'll wait a while before releasing the next updated version of this mod.
Thanks to all. ![]()
[edit]
Just saw thay quy made some other changes on admin files (and language files). That's why adding the localised version into the official trunk should be done, otherwise, the work to maintain this mod will be tedious... ![]()

All those items on index are proper names which is why I didn't localise them. However, the messaging service strings in profile for ICQ, AIM etc are localised so it would be more consistent with the rest of FluxBB if they were localised. It would then be a matter of choice for the translators whether to translate them or leave them in English.

For that same reason I suggest to localize these strings in admin_index.php. I looked for example for the "Alternative PHP Cache" and found the page translated in French ("Cache php alternatif"). The link is also not the same, a sprintf() function would be welcome ![]()

Updated your repository to FluxBB r1350. Also added the accelerators to the language file and put the links in the langague file to deal with localised versions of the project sites.
EDIT: updated to r1352.

Hello Paul,
Are these core files will be part of the 1.4 final release ?

It appears not.

Thank you for your reply ![]()
How can you guarantee that there will be no difference between the two repositories?
French language packs for FluxBB 1.3-Legacy and FluxBB 1.4
Only by updating regularly prior to 1.4 being released. Once 1.4 is released then updates to admin are likely to be rare in which case it won't be much of a job for the mod maintainers to keep it up-to-date.

Ok! But I don't understand why the "public" files are localizables and the "admin" files are not ![]()

Because thats the way the original designer decided to do it. Why is lost in the mists of time.
