Topic: New FluxBB user...please point me in the right direction.

I just installed FluxBB on my home server.  Everything seems to be working perfectly.  However, as an inexperienced web developer, I'm confused about how to customize my forum.  I'd like to incorporate different colors, header images, forum size, etc. etc. etc.
Which files do I need to edit to do this?  While browsing around I notice CSS files in forum/styles but how do I know which style is currently in use?  Which file do I edit?

Any documentation or help in general would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Which version of FluxBB are you using?

1.2 or 1.3

If you are using 1.2, you will have 2 css files, one is _cs.css and one is .css
The _cs.css is colour sheets and the .css one is sizes etc.

If you are using 1.3, then you will have to wait for someone else to reply because I am not familiar with the style at the moment.

I'm using 1.2.

Where are these files located?

There are multiple xxx_css.css and xxx.css files...how do I know which is being used?  Again, sorry for my lack of understanding - I appreciate your help.

The default one being used (the blue one) is called Oxygen so you would edit files Oxygen.css and Oxygen_cs.css

I know you're using 1.2, but as a reference for 1.3, instead of just those two files, there's an entire folder for each style (/upload/style/Oxygen/). It's a lot more diverse as you have *_ie6 and *_ie7 files as well to maintain cross-browser compatibility.

Can you recommend any handy tools to edit files like these?  Or is the only way to do it by hand?

oh and another question...where do I set which style I want to use.  for example if I wanted to use "Mercury" instead?

There are several CSS-specific editors out there, but I use Ubuntu and prefer to do it manually in gEdit.

As far as changing the style goes:

For the entire forum's default: AdminCP -> Settings should have a Style dropdown.
For just your account: Profile -> Settings should have a Style dropdown.

I'm having trouble locating the "Styles" option/dropdown in the Administrator CP...

yet another question (sorry)...if I wanted to add an image for the header of my forum would that be done in the css file as well?
