URL currently generated for users public profiles are like: http://fluxbb.org/forums/user/n/
Keeping the ID as the key, but adding a trailing romanized name to the URL should not be complicated and would help search engines ranking and overall visibility.
For example instead of http://fluxbb.org/forums/user/2/ we would have http://fluxbb.org/forums/user/2-smartys/
Less logical, but more consistent with the rest of the scheme yes.
agreed with that. thought i still dont know why do we want to optimize profiles in search engine.

Who cares about logic? It's all about the prettiness 
URL scheme was never about prettiness. It's about human readability, search engines accessibility and slight optimization.
http://fluxbb.org/forums/user/2/smartys/ imply smartys is a subgroup, subfolder or sub-something of the userid 2, which he's not. But that's not a big deal.
and "http://fluxbb.org/forums/topic/2108/add … files-url/" doesn't imply the same thing?
