Topic: Readonly mode
I would like to have a readonly mode for the case where the server/database crashed. If implemented, the users are still able to access the backup of the forum but can't post nor register.

You can turn off registration, and set the permissions for each forum so nobody (but the admin ofcourse) can post.
If you want a fancy interface for it: extension

Yes, I know that we can manually turn off registration and postings. But, consider that when the server/database crash and nothing work, we are in panic mode and usually don't think straight. It is hard for the administrator to change and note the permission for each and every forums.

There is already a maintentance mode for that, if you want something more advanced, it'll have to be an extension.
