Topic: Migration from other forums

I just came to know about FluxBB and PunBB.

My question is if both are same, then what is better one to use?

Next, is it possible to migrate data from other forums into FluxBB or PunBB.

I like these forums, mainly because its fast.

fluxBB is a recently started fork of punBB so they are still very similar, and since both are open source they will share many features, although as the time goes by the difference will start to grow between them. i would say you should go with flux (mostly since i thought these forums where a little more friendly), but still punBB is a great piece of software.

it is always possible to migrate, its just a question about how much work you want to put in it. although i do think there are a couple of migrationtools around for both punBB and fluxBB, for us to be able to help you more than that you'll have to tell us what forum software you are migrating from.

Well, I just saw FluxBB misses a basic feature: "number of times a post has been viewed" but that is implemented in punBB.

About migration, I want to separate from phpBB 3xx, as it is getting heavy, its slow and I think its not best choice now.
I found, migration tool is available in punBB Web site; it may work or not, I donno, so suggestions are required.

One more thing, what's your opinion about MyBB (MyBB board) forums?

There is a Views column for topics right between Replies and Last Post. wink

Yeah, well that `Views` feature is there in FluxBB and PunBB both, this is good; I may be browsing some other Web ste :- )

Ok, so I'll try migration of phpBB data and see if its easy to move data.
